From 24–26 August, cowboys, bull riders, shearers and stockmen will descend on the famous town of Cunnamulla in country Queensland for a uniquely ‘outback’ event — the Cunnamulla Fella Festival. The Cunnamulla Fella is an iconic bush figure who was immortalised in a song by Stan Coster, sung by Slim Dusty.
Featuring a jam-packed program of entertainment with country music, live performances and a carnival atmosphere, the Cunnamulla Fella Festival offers three days of fun-filled activities for the whole family.
The larrikin-inspired festival kicks off on Friday with live entertainment and Smoko in the park. A showcase of unique events, including the bushman’s challenges, motorbike and horse events, celebrate the outback spirit and bring home the importance of our region’s rural sector. Topping the bill is the PBR Bull Ride — ‘the toughest sport on dirt’ — which will be followed by fireworks on Saturday night at John Kerr Park.
After an adrenaline-fuelled few days, wind down on the Shire Hall lawns under the gaze of the Cunnamulla Fella and enjoy the free live music, food stalls and refreshments.
